Tonight I light a green candle for prosperity!

No chants, or words - just a lit green candle sitting by an open window (thank goodness the weather is nice tonight!) to call and welcome prosperity into my home!



I'm quite sure that this is not an original kind of spell. It just "came" to me as I was in the room and there was a green candle "staring" at me so I decide that since the color green is associated with prosperity - I would light the candle tonight.

Do you think that seeing the candle and getting the "inspiration" to light it and put it near an open window was a calling of some kind? I kind of think that it was.



I should also add that I just noticed on my blog that tonight is a new moon - and I didn't even know this when I lit the candle!

Of course the new moon is a good to do spells that have to do with wanting to start something anew. It is also a good time for spells when you want to increase something (in my case prosperity) because this is the time when the new moon is waxing which means that it is increasing in shape (and power) and I didn't even know this when I lit the candle! I really definitely think that this was a sign - casting a spell at almost the perfect correspondence time of the moon!

Using Flameless Candles In Spells????

Since I have chosen to take the path of hedgewitch I have wanted to use the most natural of ingredients and supplies in all of my spells.

So when I saw an online article about using flameless candles in spells I really "scoffed" at the notion! But I read the article and a lot of things that it said made a lot of sense to me especially when you want a candle to burn all night when you are doing a vigil. Also too, with a flameless candle you can place items around the candle and not worry about them burning.

So all in all, I have given up my "snobbery" about flameless candles and heck I have even decided to add them to my supplies as well!

I Did A Spell And It Worked!

I did a spell and it actually worked!

I live in an older home which has a driveway. Now you're not supposed to block a person's driveway with your car. Yet and still someone decided to park right in front of my driveway blocking my car! I was angry that I decide to do a spell right then and there!

One thing that I had to keep in mind is that when you are casting a spell do not seek to harm anyone or anything - so I kept that in mind when writing my spell!

Basically what I wanted was for that car to "go away and I used those exact words in my spell! Also spells are supposed to end with the words "so mote shall it be - so I also put those words at the end of my spell.

I have to tell you that I worked with what materials I had at the time.

I use a small white candle - because those were the only ones that I had but if I had the choice I would have used a black candle for this "vanishing-type" kind of spell.

I used a clean piece of white paper and wrote my spell down (creating the words of the spell myself). I used the words "go away and stay away" in my spell and ended my spell with the words "so mote shall it be".

I lit the candle and said my spell out loud - once. And then I burned the paper and used an ashtray as my cauldron to burn the paper in.

I let the paper burn entirely until it was nothing but ashes! Then I took those ashes and blew them onto the car that was blocking my driveway!

I released the energy and the spell and went back inside. About 1/2 hour later I heard footsteps walking hurriedly to the car and the car starting up! It took about a good 15 minutes before the car actually drove off and honestly speaking I think it was because I was obsessing over the car leaving and that is why it took it a while for the car to actually leave.

I did this spell about 2 days ago and the car hasn't been back since!

A Big Green Candle!

I have been using green candles during my meditation sessions. Green is the color of money and wealth and that is what I am concentrating on and that is what I am focusing my mind on during my meditation sessions.

So far I have been using the small tea light candles and I'll burn one of those per session. Lately I have been thinking about getting a bigger candle that's green so that I won't have to keep using additional candles but now that I think about it using the smaller candles are a better way to go. I say this because burning a whole candle per session makes more sense as regards to what my goal is (which is more money).

I have seen many candle spells online but mostly I stick to a simple candle burning session where I focus on my desires and that session will last until the candle burns out - so getting a bigger candle just wouldn't be the same to me.

I do know that I have said in previous posts that tools aren't necessary but I also said that having them enhances what it is you want to do.

What do I do during these meditation sessions? It's quite simple really. I'll usually use my livingroom where there is this big comfy chair. I'll light the candle and sit down and relax to focus on my desires and intentions and (try to) not let other thoughts - negative thoughts - enter into my mind. The whole goal here is to relax one's body and mind to the point where you reach a very relaxed state and remain that way for the duration of time that you set. My sessions are at least one hour.

Even those that don't believe in candle spells should try the meditation part of it because another reason why this is done is to relieve stress and relax. Have you ever felt nervious or have had bouts of anxiety (like I have)? Meditation would be good for this. The goal is to help center and ground yourself and you don't have to be a witch to do that. Getting back to a peaceful state could prove beneficial in more ways than one. There have been times when I have meditated and the end results are a calm peaceful feeling which helps me to tackle and solve my problems more efficiently.

We all have problems but it's what we do with them that counts!
