I found another very good piece of advice about what to do if your spells are not working for you

When things don't work for you and they don't work a lot, it can be any number of things and your biggest challange a lot of the time is figuring out what is going wrong. This is one of the reasons that it's always good to write down everything that you have done and when you did, what state of mind you were in, what you used..etc, this way you can always go back and look and see if maybe you were in the wrong moon phase, for example or used the wrong herbs in something, and then you can easily go back and make changes and try again.
As for not believing enough, yes, that can be it too. If you have any doubt about what you're doing when you do it, that will effect the energy that you raise when you work magick. If you're not sure about something, then it's always best to just hold off until a better time. Remember, your thoughts and your feelings with what you're doing and your goal you have in mind all contribute to the energy that is being raised. Negative thoughts translate to negative energies and can cause things to not work out. Doubt is a strong thing.
Keep trying and keep practicing and you'll get it. Don't give up. =)"

My philosophy is that the universe has a balance. If you are not giving enough to nature and the people around you then you will not get what you ask for. If you are not trying to achieve the goal then you are not going to achieve it. There is also the simple matter that sometimes the universe knows what's best and that all good things come in time.
I think that for the most part my spells have been about money, in fact one of my most successful spells was about money where I used visualization and got a client to come to me.
I think that sometimes I try too hard and that makes the spell not work as much as I want it to. You're supposed to do the spell and then "release" it and I tend to hold on to it - like I didn't have enough faith in the spell or something similar to it - I'm working on that
Interesting thing just came to me.....I was shopping at a local store and the cashier teased me because I was buying chocolate and I remember them mentioning how much they love chocolate so I bought some for them - not expecting to get anything back - I just felt like giving them a treat since they do work so hard. The next day I received $50 in the mail!
