The next full moon....

is called The Hunter's Moon and will be on October 17th.

I take it to mean that the hunter is hunting for food and enough food is needed to carry through the winter just in case the weather gets really bad and/or the food supply gets short.

The next witch's holiday is not far behind - Samhain which is Halloween!
